This is from a series of work done between 2008 and 2011. Hand gesture and pose were combined with scribbled lines to symbolize a state of mind. In this piece a web-like reclining figure is also a landscape that is interconnected, unraveling, delicate and resilient. We and our perceptions are inseparable from the world around us that supports us. On the original piece, wax based encaustic paint is layered with pen and ink drawn on mulberry paper.
